GENERAL DESCRIPTION Gil is a decently attractive boy, and whatever shortcomings he has physically, he makes up for with a quick smile and charming demeanor. At 5'8, Gil is only just taller than average height for his age, and there is something in his appearance that reminds one of a puppy that hasn't quite grown into his own skin yet. He imagine's he'll gain at least another couple of inches over the next few years, and fill out a little bit more, so long as he's able to get back onto the house Quidditch team-- granted, he was only a reserve last year, but the workouts really did him good. He tends to favor clean, classic lines and natural fabrics in his clothing, and while he doesn't mind color, he doesn't usually wear a lot of really bright colors. His hair is usually kept short and he nearly always appears almost impeccably groomed.

PREFECT/HEAD Max would love to be a prefect, and he would probably be pretty good at it. Though he isn't an absolute stickler for the rules, he has a pretty decent (if superficial) relationship with the students in his house.
QUIDDITCH Gil was a reserve chaser for the Slytherin House team last year. He would have tried out for the Hogwarts team if he was old enough, but alas, he was not. And so he will play intramural Quidditch and try out for the house team next year!

Gil has the face of an angel and the heart of the devil, so to speak. On the surface, he's a polite, charming boy, who always seems to know exactly what he wants. He's confident and charismatic, seemingly extroverted. He is comfortable in the limelight, but equally at ease on his own. He can be selfish, and is used to getting his own way-- and he'll do anything he can to further his own ends. He isn't afraid to say or do anything to get what he wants, and if he doesn't get it, he can be a little bit sullen (and perhaps a bit of an arse) until he gets his way. He has a sense of superiority, of being better than those around him, simply because he is used to things coming easily to him.
He can be stubborn and fiercely loyal to those he deems worthy, which isn't very many people. This can especially be seen in his relationship with his mother; he is an absolute mama's boy-- it isn't that he doesn't respect or get along with his father, but he would do absolutely anything his mother asked of him. It takes a lot to earn his trust, once he's given it, it takes a lot to break that trust. Gil can be prone to the dramatic at times, once he loses his patience. It doesn't happen very often, but those who have seen it find it almost amusing. He likes to maintain control of any given situation, though he is quick to give up that control when his mother is involved. He can have an almost cruel streak, wanting to know how far he can push something until it snaps in two-- but this isn't something that always happens. He's not all bad, though, and can be a pretty nice guy to those he likes.
Gil likes to see himself as a ladies' man, but in truth, he really is just an awkward teenage boy. He's charming and a flirt-- and secretly a romantic, though not quite to the extent of his older brother. He's dated some, though of course he hasn't had anything very serious yet, and he wonders if he ever might find love, but he knows there's still plenty of time before he needs to find anything so serious and to settle down.
Had he not been a Slytherin, Gil most likely would have been a Hufflepuff. He has the loyalty and work ethic to be placed there, but it was his choice that landed him in Slytherin. When he heard the Sorting Hat talking about placing him in Hufflepuff, he flat out refused. He wanted to be a Gryffindor, but given the choice between Hufflepuff or Slytherin, he chose Slytherin. It was a good choice for him, given his ability to adapt to any given situation and his desire to put himself first. He's done well in Slytherin so far, though he doesn't always have quite the sharp edge of some of his older housemates. |

HISTORY Gilchrest Cecil Pucey was born early one June morning, to parents Katie and Adrian Pucey. He was their second child, and second son-- but unlike his older brother, he was a happy and charming infant, who grew into a smiling and charming child. He was rarely ever quiet, his eyes were always wide open and he always appeared attentive, absorbing the world around him. He grew quickly, always reaching all the milestones of childhood just a little bit faster than his peers, and it was soon obvious that there was something about him that simply drew people toward him.
All of this aside, he had a fairly average childhood. He looked up to his older brother, though it wasn't too very long before he realized how different they were, and how most people treated the two of them differently. He still liked Toby, and the two were fast friends growing up. Things changed, though, when Toby received his letter to Hogwarts and Gil was left alone at home. His parents enrolled him in any number of activities, all of which he excelled at-- dancing, theater, drawing, Junior Quidditch leagues, Wizard's chess, anything that caught Gil's attention. This helped to fill his time, helped him to use up all of his extra energy. And he found that when he excelled, he received even more attention and more praise, all of which Gil loved.
And on his eleventh birthday, Gil was excited to receive his Hogwarts letter. Nobody was surprised, as he'd been displaying small signs of magic for years. He was thrilled to join his brother on the Hogwarts train the following September, and he took everything in with wide-eyed wonder. He knew what to expect for the sorting, and when it came his turn, he marched right on up to the Sorting Hat. It took a few moments of deliberation, in which Gil tried to say that he wanted to be a Gryffindor, but he ended up in Slytherin, when the Sorting Hat made him choose between Hufflepuff or Slytherin.
Slytherin ended up being a very good fit for Gil. He made a number of friends, both in and out of his house, and he always did very well in his classes. Yes, he could be called a little bit of a suck-up, but he didn't care. He liked the praise the professors would shower on him when he knew the right answers. His time at Hogwarts did mark the beginning of a slight rift between Gil and Toby-- while they still got along, Gil came to realize that he didn't quite understand his brother, and their differing houses and interests tended to keep them moving in different social circles throughout the school year. As in their childhood, Gil tended to be fairly popular and decently liked amongst his peers. Things tended to fall into place for him, and he was fairly successful in most everything he attempted.
This year brings about a lot of change for Gil. He hit his growth spurt this past summer, gaining a good three inches in just a few months and giving him the air of a puppy still growing into his paws. He also began to notice girls a whole lot more, and he's turned to flirting a lot. He wishes that fifth years had been allowed to try out for the school team, but is coming to realize that school is a lot harder this year than it used to be. With OWLs coming up, Gil has found that he can't simply skate by on his natural intelligence in order to succeed in his classes. He's actually having to work. But since he has a reputation to uphold as an easy-going, carefree sort of bloke, he tends to put most of his work off to late night or early morning hours when most people are still asleep and cannot see his effort. His parents have begun to ask him what he wants to choose for his profession, and he still cannot decide. On one hand, he would love to be a healer, just like his mother. On the other, he wishes to make his father proud, following him into a career in law. But then there is that tiny part of him that just doesn't know if either of those paths are what's really going to make him happy. But he figures he has plenty of time before he really has to begin worrying about any of that. |
